Well, did you commit to National Novel Writing Month?

Check it out.  You may be inspired to write (more) by joining thousands of other authors who are using November to crank out the rough draft of a novel.

Every year I get excited about NaNoWriMo but I have to admit that I have yet to produce any more writing in November than I do in any other month of the year.  Disappointing?  A little.  Do I lack self-discipline or time-management skills?  Not at all.  I have two words for you–five kids.  November only competes with December and May for the number of school plays, parties and choir performances.  Not to mention the holiday preparation time that begins for families in November .

Excuses?  Yes and no.  There are many, many days I cannot find the time to write and so allow myself more time on other days to write a little more.  It all balances out.

Don’t feel any sense of failure if you aren’t able to write 60,000 words in a month.  Most of us can’t!  Just keep on writing at the pace that works for you.  Persistance.  Determination.  Success!

Just keep on writing!
