It’s Almost Here…

So, it’s almost November, also known as National Novel Writing Month (http://www.nanowrimo.org/)…

Last year was the first time I made a real committment to pen 50,000 words in one month.  And let me just say, THIS IS HARD!  I was going through a ‘refuse-to-give-out-my-email-to-another-entity’ phase (more of a steadfast decision than a phase) so I didn’t officially register on the site but I gave it an honest effort on my own and was pathetically unsuccessful.  I’m more determined this year.  I love the idea of forcing raw thoughts down on paper for the purpose of nothing more than quantity over quality. (Quantity doesn’t come easily for me because I’m guilty of sweating for hours over one sentence.)  I had already begun the outline for my next teen novel but I can’t decide if I should use it or use this opportunity to attempt something more spontaneous…hmmmm….maybe I’ll even try a new genre…I’ve always wanted to write a horror story.

On another topic entirely…if you’ve ever read this blog (which I know you have not because I have zero followers) then you know that I’m a bit of a workout junkie.  An exercise video junkie, precisely.  You probably couldn’t tell it by looking at me (damn you, gravity!) but I exercise at least 5 days a week and feel guilty for the 2 days that are left out.  If you get a high from a difficult workout then please invest in Insanity.  There are a ton of great exercise videos out there (believe me, I own them all) but this one is just crazy good.  It’s a challenge no matter how many times you do it.  And don’t turn it off after the warm-up!  Your heart, lungs and muscles will thank you for it!

As always, go exercise your mind with some awesome writing but don’t neglect your body, challenge it as well!
